Live portfolio dashboards in Claude, from your own Zahlenwerk data

Claude can now build dashboards that fetch fresh data every time someone opens them. With the Zahlenwerk connector, that data can be your portfolio. How it works, what we changed to support it, and what to know before you share one.

Until recently, a chart that Claude made for you was a snapshot. It showed the numbers Claude had read while writing it, and those numbers were out of date the next morning.

That changed on 15 July 2026. Since then, a page that Claude publishes, which Anthropic calls an artifact, can now call your connectors each time someone opens it. A dashboard built this way is not a picture of last Tuesday. It asks for the current numbers every time it loads, and it can refresh while it stays open.

Wealth Management by Zahlenwerk has a connector for Claude, and this week we updated it for exactly this use.

How to build one

Connect Zahlenwerk in Claude under Settings → Connectors (our documentation walks you through it). Then ask for the page you want and name the connector:

Build a dashboard artifact of our portfolio by company, with unfunded commitments and the next capital calls, that pulls live data through my Zahlenwerk connector.

Claude writes the page and publishes it to a private link. Open it tomorrow and it shows tomorrow's numbers: the positions, valuations and cashflows as they are in Zahlenwerk at that moment, not as they were when the page was written.

Each viewer sees their own data

The part we care about most is how these pages handle access.

The page never holds a key to your data. When someone opens it, Claude makes the call through that person's own connection to Zahlenwerk. That means:

  • A colleague who opens the dashboard sees what their role in your Zahlenwerk workspace allows them to see, and nothing more.
  • Each person approves the connector for the page before it fetches anything.
  • Someone without a Zahlenwerk connection sees the page with its live sections empty.
  • On a public link, the live sections stay empty for everyone. Live data appears only for signed-in members of your Claude organisation.

  2. The viewer's own connectionApproved once per page; no keys in the page
  3. ZahlenwerkAnswers in that person's role, as it does in the app

Cannot seeSection stays emptyNo connection, no permission, or a public link
The dashboard is shared; the data behind it is fetched separately for each viewer.

This is the same principle as our MCP server: the data stays where it is governed, and the assistant comes to it.

What we changed for dashboards

The connector was built for answering questions in a conversation. Dashboards ask for something slightly different: the same question, over and over, from a page that has no one to ask for clarification. This week's update to the connector covers that:

  • Every tool says whether it reads or writes. Claude can cache reads safely, so a dashboard opens from the last result and updates in the background. A refreshing page never repeats a write.
  • Answers have a declared shape. The tools a dashboard uses most, such as the portfolio summary, positions, fund reports, profit and loss and transactions, describe exactly what they return. The pages Claude writes rely on fixed fields instead of guessing at text.
  • Your Zahlenwerk dashboards, in Claude. A new tool hands over a saved dashboard with every tile's figures calculated by Zahlenwerk itself. A dashboard you rebuild in Claude shows the same numbers you see in the app.

Before you share one

A few limits are worth knowing:

  • Sharing a live dashboard with colleagues needs a Claude Team or Enterprise plan for now, because only those plans share artifacts within an organisation. On Pro and Max you can build one for yourself, but a public link shows it without live data.
  • On Team and Enterprise, an owner can turn connector calls from artifacts off for the organisation.
  • When the page fetches data, it goes through Claude, so it reaches Anthropic just as it does when you ask Claude a question about your portfolio. Organisations that have zero data retention with Anthropic cannot use artifacts at all.
  • The numbers on the page come from Zahlenwerk, but the layout and any arithmetic on top of them are written by Claude. For figures you send to LPs or your tax adviser, use the reports in Zahlenwerk.

If you build something useful with it, we would like to see it.
