Zahlenwerk vs Masttro

Masttro is an enterprise wealth platform with offices in New York, Zurich and Monterrey. Zahlenwerk is for smaller offices that want to start this quarter.

Choose Zahlenwerk if

  • You are a small office and want to start without a proposal and an implementation project
  • You want a full set of books per legal entity, not a sub-ledger that exports to one
  • You want to see the price before the first call
  • Your portfolio is mostly private: funds, SPVs and direct holdings

Choose Masttro if

  • You need data from many banks and custodians; Masttro states more than 700 direct data connections
  • Your structure spans jurisdictions, entities and assets you want mapped in one view
  • You want Swiss infrastructure and an established vendor
  • You have the budget and time for an enterprise implementation

Where Masttro is the better choice

Masttro is built for scale and breadth: hundreds of direct data connections, complex multi-jurisdiction structures, and a team that implements this for large family offices. If that is your situation, a beta product from a young studio is not a substitute.

It also prices independently of assets under management and runs on Swiss infrastructure, two things buyers in this market rightly ask about.

Questions

Is Masttro's pricing published?

No. Masttro sends a proposal based on your firm and says its pricing does not scale with assets under management. Zahlenwerk prices per team by package; the starting price is on our pricing page.

Does either include a general ledger?

Masttro describes an investment sub-ledger that exports entries to your general ledger, and says it does not include a full double-entry ledger. Zahlenwerk includes a set of books per legal entity.

Is Zahlenwerk suitable for a large multi-family office?

Possibly not yet. Larger packages exist, but the product is in beta and built first for small single family offices. A large office with many custodians is better served today by a platform built for that.

Test it on one quarter of statements

Forward one quarter's statements and compare what comes out with the workbook you already trust. That is how the firms in the beta started, and it is a better test than any comparison page.
